  Hey 4 hours is a slog, whatever the subject may be. But i found the structure and formatting quite interesting. This movie is better than Whedons of course, and it really is saying something about a guy just getting to make his own shit. The shots do look like comic book panels, the slow mo stills are beautiful. The dark take is great too. But the stakes of the movie are misaligned with the content and it is a cgi mish mash for large stretches. A good watch once to say you did movie, but something I doubt I’ll revisit

  I loved it. I get why there’s criticism, but that part is very meta for me to opine on here. The fact that the movie addresses movie criticism so head on doesn’t make it impervious to critique, but your standard LA Times Karen’s can’t be the ones doing it. And for me, just a guy, the whole identity thing is fine. It plays. (We can go down an even deeper rabbit hole now, regarding me, as a normal white dude…
