An interesting concept that is ultimately ruined by the film’s title. If Disney had tried to create a standalone movie set in the fashion world, it could have resulted in a memorable film in the style of The Devil Wears Prada.

But since Disney refuses to invest in original ideas, we end up with oddities like this. I still don’t understand how this connects to the 1961 animated film.

First, you have to slog through a long-winded opening before you finally get to the core of the story, where new characters appear—characters you don’t care about and look down on.

    The cast doesn’t…

Congratulations! And the award for the biggest poser goes to… Robert Eggers! Seriously? Can someone please explain to me what’s so great about this film? I get the feeling that the director believes his stories are flawless, so much so that he doesn’t need anyone to critique him. His films are always praised, yet they seem to lose all meaning and value.

It’s pretty obvious that Mr. Director just wanted to make his favorite movie, as if to prove to…
