No Other Land 2024
The kind of documentary that'll make your blood boil. What the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinian people is disgusting - I already knew and felt this going in. But seeing a personal story like this that really helps you understand how it's affecting people in their everyday lives is vitally important. I especially sympathise with the conversation Basel and Yuval have at the end of the film - what can we really do to enact change? You really feel the oppression here, I felt beaten down just watching it. I cannot even imagine how they feel.

Nickel Boys 2024
Harrowing. The kind of movie that leaves a pit in your stomach throughout essentially its entire runtime. Bold decisions with its style of editing and the way it's shot, which I applaud.

Mulholland Drive 2001
I watched this movie about 7yrs ago and initially dismissed it. I didn't "get" it. Now I get it.
Now, I don't pretend to fully get the plot - but I think I understand the feelings Lynch wanted to convey and shit were they conveyed well. That theatre scene in particular.
Muloholland Drive made me feel anxious, scared and befuddled. It made me laugh (there's a couple of really funny scenes).
Lynch is here to help you embrace the weird. Embrace it, in all its strange, scary and beautiful glory!
