So incredibly Irish in the best way possible. I know this movie definitely is a metaphor about the meaning of life or whatever and probably some sort of connection between the Irish Civil War and Colm and Padraic’s relationship but I’m not smart or Irish enough to tell you exactly what it means I just know it’s there somewhere. I feckin loved this movie though, a very refreshing new movie that doesn’t need a budget of 100 million+ to be watchable.

This movie will confuse you while keeping you captivated the entire time. Colin Farrell will always deliver which I think is why I feel biased to like this movie, but I think Nicole Kidman’s character also adds to the eerie vibe that the movie gives you. If you are a sucker for a good mindfuck/“what the fuck am I watching”, this is a great watch. The dialogue is one thing about the movie that throws me off, but you will eventually get used to it and overall will enjoy this movie directed by the same wild mind that created “The Lobster”.
