This film gives me something new every time I watch it, and it’s always a joy to see the reactions of friends and loved ones when I show them this masterpiece. After watching Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me, I knew I had to explore David Lynch’s entire filmography, and this was next in line. The film is both a love letter to cinema and a hate letter to Hollywood, capturing both the dreamlike beauty and the harsh brutality…

    ★★★½

Mickey 17 feels like the unofficial sequel to Okja. Robert Pattinson delivers some of the best performances of his career, while Mark Ruffalo plays a fantastically terrible version of Donald Trump. Bong Joon-ho is a brilliant filmmaker, but I personally prefer him when he stays grounded. Overall, the film is a fun ride.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life

    ★★

The Tomb Raider sequel returns with a new director, this time Jan de Bont, the filmmaker behind one of the ‘90s best (Speed) and worst (Speed 2) action films. Taking on a new Tomb Raider adaptation, de Bont delivers a film that, for me, is more entertaining than its predecessor. While the CGI is absolutely terrible, Ciarán Hinds makes for a solid Bond-like villain, Gerard Butler is a decent supporting character, and the dialogue is just the right amount of cheesy for a Jan de Bont action movie.

Bong Joon-ho’s Mother is a strange yet captivating blend of bizarre humor, crime, and thriller elements. From the start, the film establishes an unusual and unsettling dynamic between the mother and son, which only deepens as the story unfolds. With its sharp twists and emotional depth, it’s a film that both shocks and delights—a movie that brings joy deep into my cinephile soul. Thank you once again, Bong Joon-ho.
