Very, very gross. But also endearing. I don't want to say too much - but if you have a strong stomach for the bizarre this is a hard one to regret trying.

Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I mean, the casting is fun and the performances are charismatic. The fight choreography is occasionally excellent. Shit, I'll gladly smile whenever Blade's on a screen. But... that really doesn't save the rest of it.
The jokes are basically on par with the other recent Marvel productions, except here they cover R-rated subject matter and fourth-wall breaking pop culture. The CGI is atrocious. The stakes are paper thin, and not in a fun "Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe" way.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 1969
This movie opens on a high note, then sort of drunkenly stumbles its way downhill until it ends. Still, Robert Redford and Paul Newman have incredible comedic chemistry. Their vibe is made even better by how consistently clever and charming the writing is ("If he'd just pay me what he's spending to make me stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him!").
By the end, I felt like I had gotten maybe a third of the movie I had hoped for, but I had high hopes so a third was good enough for me.
Also, this movie has one of the most dangerous-looking explosion stunts I've seen.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
My expectations were basically non-existent. Loved Fury Road, but the trailers for this one left me cold.
Well, uh, I thought this movie absolutely rocked. It's disturbing and fun. It's gorgeous, too. There's this moment where Furiosa is flooring it down the back of a dune in a rat rod in pursuit of some bikers and it's one of the sickest chase shots I've ever seen.
There's just not much like this movie out there. It's like a comic book…
