    The Electric State

    ★★★½

I don't understand the hate for Electric State.

With a Rotten Tomatoes Score of 16% I was expecting a real stinker. Critics say it's a betrayal of the original more darker source material.

    Well here's the thing.

By the end of the first act, I found myself having a good time, caring what happens to the characters and being engrossed in the world. And that feeling lasted all the way through.

It isn't perfect, but it's still pretty good.

Watch the film for yourself despite what the critics say.

    Queenpins

    ★★½

Queenpins was destined to land in the $5 Bargain Bin. The movie feels like an hour-and-half student film filled with celebrities. It is lighthearted but there were never any laugh-out-loud moments.

    It's a shame too.

The characters do have chemistry and the actors put their all into it despite the bland, paint-by-numbers script.

    Someone had to write this.
    Someone had to storyboard this.
    Someone had to cast this.
    Someone had to animate this
And say, "Yeah, that's good enough."
Deplorable. I hope they regret making this film, I would.

PS: The title is a lie and the editing is atrocious.

    Alice in Murderland

    ★★★

Remember those Slumber Party Horror Movies in the 50's, where a bunch of blond bimbos spend the night in a creepy location running away from a monster? Yeah, that's the basic gist of "Alice in Murderland."

Throughout the majority of this film, I was thinking to myself
    "You can't be this stupid!"
    or
    "Yes, we've already established that!"
    or
    "What... Am I watching?"

I like to think this film was made so the director could get girls to act out…
