  It completely fails to justify any of it's narrative. The only explanation of Arthur's violence is that he's mentally ill (read weird) and that the victims deserved it for "stomping on his dreams". It's saved only by the performances and the cinematography.

  I liked where it ended up in the last 10 minutes but it didn't earn it AT ALL, nor did it make any sense how it got there.

  Todd Philips thinks the audience needs everything spelled out for them, unfortunately, he can't spell.
