Sean Baker is a genius and has put out some life changing films over the past 10 years. This film is in no way shape or form bad but I think it may be the weakest I have seen from him.
It took me around 40-50 minutes to get immersed in the world he created but after that I was in and I loved it from then.
Mikey Maddison puts in a masterclass of a performance and deserves the Oscar; I just thought 20-30 minutes could have been cut from the runtime which is something I can’t say about his other works.
