I loved the opening. This movie has a lot going for it - bold directing, wild story, great acting, unique musical numbers. Lots of emotion. In the end I’m not sure it all works. I’m not sure the director who isn’t from Mexico should have attempted to tell such a Mexico-centric story, perhaps… I’m not sure what I think about someone writing and directing a movie in a language that isn’t their own about a subject matter they’re possibly not…
