  this movie gets right to the heart of what it is like to deal with complex grief and trauma, especially when that grief and trauma ripples out and is felt on both the communal and individual levels. instead of cruel trauma porn, each scene was brutally honest, raw and real in a way that invited you into what the characters were feeling and experiencing. i know it's only january but this is definitely going to be one of my top movies of the year.
