I honestly expected worse. CGI was just horrid, but plot could’ve been worse. It feels like it’s impossible to make a TMNT movie that isn’t just absolutely tied to the time period it was made in. The 1999 movie will always feel like a real 90’s movie. This one? Definitely a 2010’s action film. Mutant mayhem? A bit too much teen slang and pop references, it’ll never escape the 20’s now.
