There’s a whole lot to say about how great this movie is, but it’s kinda hard to put into words. It really encapsulates what addiction is, and how hard it is to escape the life it brings. The characters are all great and distinct in their own ways, and they have thick fucking Scottish accents that you can’t hear through. However, the one thing I’ll say this movie did the best is immerse you in Renton’s world; I left the movie feeling like I needed to take a shower too.

Bordering on a 5 for me; psychologically, this movie does it all really well, and the way that Ruben evolves emotionally throughout the movie is done really well. It really shows how human nature makes one inclined to want things to stay normal, which brings about the question of if the state of normal is actually better. It's a movie about belonging. Overall, this is a great movie, shot beautifully, and Ahmed puts in a shift on this film.
