Oz the Great and Powerful 2013
There's a lot of good in "Oz: The Great and Powerful." Visually it's terrific, everything an Oz update should be. Colors are saturated, the CGI is fantastical without being unbelievable, and though I saw it in 2D, I can only imagine it looks wonderful in 3D. It also starts strongly enough, with an interestingly flawed lead and enough imagery to pay homage to the original without simply relying on it.
