“Our love is God. Let’s go get a slushie.”
This movie is so painfully ‘80s. High school simply was not that deep…
Christian Slater as young Mr. Robot is pretty good here though.
This movie is… about what I expected from a “Paramount+ original”.
Not awful, but only JUST a step above “made for TV” or “direct to video”.
There was definitely an eeriness to the first third that I could get behind, but once the “reveal” happens in the second third, it becomes a bit of a farce… a lame version of HP Lovecraft.
And then the shark…? And the panic attack…?
Silly.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
In terms of the saddest handjob in an Oscar favorite (note: not my favorite on screen jibber; that goes to “The Master” - RIP PSH)… this has to be top.
Adrien Brody is incredible - as is the cast overall.
Loved the soundtrack/score.
A cinematic beauty. (Especially the scene in the Carrara mountains when they’re walking through the marble - exquisite. Love love loved it.)
This would probably benefit from a second watch that I simply am not going to…
Interesting take on a band that has been covered for well over 5 decades now.
Putting the focus on the early days - formation, US, tours, Zeppelin I & II - and ending on the Royal Albert Hall show is a solid story line.
Enjoyed some footage I hadn’t seen before as well as the John Bonham interview.
