  Ya its really good, and I wanna say its as amazing as everyone says but for my first viewing, it didn't quittttttttte hit all the right buttons for me to call it a 10. Maybe part 2 and 3 will change my view on it but we'll see. Fs deserves a rewatch and a couple of video essays to really get it.

  The absolute genius of this film is in its portrayal of how the horror consumes everyone. The desensitization and dehumanization that grows in these characters only leads into the breaking down and dismantling of these characters psyche and morality. A majority of this movie is simply a showing of the never-ending madness and evil of the Vietnam war and how of its effects on not only our main cast, but every American soldier in the conflict breed only further madness…

  When watching this film, all I could think of was the word dysfunctional.
  Blanche dysfunctional in her need to be perceived as this "southern belle" leading to an unacceptance of reality rather telling others as well as herself lies to keep up this persona and the hyper-femininity that's so important to her.

  After constantly not getting references and getting harped on by friends for not watching this film, I finally watched it, and my main question is how after my many years this planet (not a whole lot but still) have I somehow completely missed this movie with zero to little exposure to it at all.
