A devastating watch. Manipulative? Maybe - but it earns it.

It's not good. It's also not as bad as it's made out to be.
It's a film with generally good performances from great actors on interesting and ambitious but ultimately misguided material. Borderline incoherent at times, but I was never bored and I am honestly looking forward to watching it again, which is more than I can say for a lot of films which are technically better.
