First Reformed 2017
Thoughtful, brutally honest film that grapples with the impending doom of climate change through the lens of Christianity. It was cool seeing a film discuss the general anxiety of climate change with a plausible character and highly American setting.
Really liked the use of a daily journal to hear the inner thoughts of Toller after events unfolded throughout the day. The journal allowed his character to be more relatable and made his struggle into despair hard to bear.
