This film is a continuation of a series that should have begun and ended with the first film. Never has a series outlived its stay more than this (just kidding planet of the apes ijbol). It has no elements that are scary, it's almost as if it is a spoof of itself. Embarrassingly fun. My kids loved it 10/10.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
An artistic film unlike most other in it's genre. Longlegs provides ample suspense and build up to what ultimately leads up to a watered down villain with odd eccentricies. A perfect premise to lunge upon, is lost upon the very thing it was set to represent. Nicholas Cage's character being the biggest offender, being a "Joker"esque character who is ultimately just a cringey afterimage. It should stick to the first and second act's themes of building suspense and leaving us…
This movie has great potential. Stunning visuals for it's time, the funny little tidbits for kids. The only thing missing, is Chris Pratt, let's all be honest with ourselves. I needed a scene where the Aliens attack and Chris' character stops, and exclaims "He's right behind me isn't he?" Overall, 10/10 my kids loved it.
