  Baldwin’s power as a speaker and writer, a “witness,” as he calls it, is in his ability to—an ability unique to him in comparison to any other writer/thinker I’ve been exposed to—force words to simmer, bubble, almost touch the actual face of reality, thereby making that reality—even in a fleeting sense—conceivable to his audience, including members of that audience who have never had to confront the hardships he discusses, and in doing so, he also forces these particular audience members to confront, not just the presence of that reality but also their role, often complicity, within it. I am grateful for these teachings.

  Goofy as fuck, could watch this like 50 more times. More horror movies with this tone, please. Equal parts funny and mean. So many weird details. I want to see the movie about the fake priest becoming a fake priest in a small Maine town. I like also that this movie seemed to be simultaneously inspired by Vertigo and Disney’s Meet The Robinsons (this is something only I could possibly get a kick out of).   Fuck it, five stars. Chris Hemsworth is chewing — no, gobbling — the scenery in the best possible way. There’s so much going on in every scene. A guy rubs his nipple throughout the course of the runtime. Great time at the movies!
