A24, aspect ratios and peer pressure
Another great movie from one of my favorite film production companies. The film explores themes of peer pressure as a young boy follows a group of degenerate skaters.

Matthew McConaughey, as usual, does such an amazing job portraying Ron Woodroof, a homophobic man who catches the AIDS virus during the height of the crisis in the 1980s. He attempts to overcome his previous prejudice against gays as he sells drugs that presumably help victims of the disease. Another Kelvin Harrison Jr masterclass
This movie was a great tension builder. In Travis's first nightmare, the jumpscare set a false precedent, which led me to anticipate a scare around every corner. The acting was powerful as the actors were able to portray what I felt was a very realistic response to this kind of sickness.
What ultimately held this movie back for me was the abrupt ending. The movie had built up to the collapse of Paul's family, yet it left me wanting more.
Overall, A24 does it again with another great film.

This movie was so powerful from the cinematography, acting performances from the likes of Timothee Chalamet, Steve Carell and Amy Ryan, to the fantastic sound direction, paired with an amazing supporting cast, takes this film to the next level.
