It’s always cool seeing Soderbergh try something different, and Presence is no exception. Using the camera as an invisible spectator isn’t exactly new, but here it feels fresh because the camera is the presence. The way he pulls off these one-shot sequences, mixing everyday drama with this paranormal vibe, is pretty darn good.

This is probably the sweetest of all the Dogme 95 films, mostly because I can’t take my eyes off Liva.

Why do I always put myself in this sad situation, watching Dancer in the Dark on a Sunday night? I guess I like to feel the blues from time to time.

Just like in Dogville, Lars von Trier explores how bad people prey on vulnerable outsiders. The musical sequences offer Selma brief refuge, but when the music fades, life starts to deteriorate.

Dancer in the Dark reminds us that life is not a musical, but for Selma, it was the only way to cope with the darkness.

Aftersun is a deeply emotional film that hit close to home for me. It made me reflect on my late father and the memories we created together. The story beautifully captures the fleeting moments that shape us, reminding us that there’s no right age to be an orphan.
