honestly it’s a bit badly acted (i think that was due to them all leaning into camp because these are good actors with good capabilities. or perhaps it’s due to the script being on the clunkier end?) but it’s sooo fun! hate that the cop was a hero in the end though sorry.

My Old Ass 2024
sure i’m giving it a 3 but it’s 3.5 enjoyable for sure. just time travel is not used creatively here and as a result the narrative is automatically weak. i don’t really hate the bisexuality discovery plotline like i know a lot of people do; chad and…avery (?) do have great chemistry! also the scenes with her parents are truly very good. sorry though they CANNOT pass that that girl grows up into aubrey plaza

the loss of daba’s childlike grin. the jaded edge abeed acquired. emad’s wife begging him to just stop fucking filming. gibreel suggesting how to kill the soldiers. and you could hear how emad’s composure broke when the iof were telling him that his own fucking house was a war zone. at one point i thought nothing will change, will it. but it did.
of course it’s difficult to rate movies detailing the struggle of the oppressed for liberation and i don’t think i’ll always do more than just leave a like or not like it but this is five stars.
