The Origin of Evil 2022
Stephane (or Nathalie?) visits her lover in prison and makes contact with her absent father. His failing health and obvious wealth drive the plot. No one is good. Deplored and enjoyed every character. What is the origin of evil? Money? The humans around it? The French?
Brilliant split framing (there's probably a technical term for this that I need to learn) in the deposition and dinner scenes. A bass sound at two (perhaps more) scene transitions gave me the feeling of diving deeper into the drama.
Ugh cliche... but it was gripping. I’d watch again and recommend.
