The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent 2022
I wish I didn’t take so long to finally see this movie. Great references to films in general, but primarily Cage’s work of course as he played himself. Pedro Pascal as Javi was brilliant and the two of them made a fantastic movie duo. The plot was both a trip and relatable, with heartfelt, goofy, and just insane moments. Not only would I watch this again, but I think I have a possible new favorite Nicolas Cage movie.

I heard this was originally going to be a TV show. They probably should’ve stuck with that or cut some characters/plot points. The music was good. The beginning and ending were strong, but most plot points in between felt more rushed than the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker's “lightspeed skipping.”

The Monkey 2025
The film was absolutely surreal from the line deliveries to the shot setups. The gore was a bit gross for me, but the main redeeming quality was the humor. I think the themes it touches on are deep but the exploration doesn’t go beneath the surface. Everybody dies, and that’s messed up. 3.5/5 probably wouldn’t rewatch but I did enjoy it.
