  Let me preface with acknowledging the racist and twisted views that this movie exhibits in its production. Nothing about that should’ve been acceptable in its day and especially now. Many of the Black stereotypes in this movie were off-putting and in poor taste. The South is looked at through rose colored glasses that hide many of its horrors.

  This movie was really unlike anything I’ve seen before, but in the best of ways. It’s cool to think how this could not have been done even 10 years ago. It feels like the movie pushes the limits of every medium it uses in the best of ways.
