The Treasure of the Sierra Madre 1948
This is a great tale. I say that because I could easily imagine hearing this story told as an old wives tale. That is a credit to Huston directing. The story could become over-saturated by the epic nature of the plot, but he keeps his camera quite local to our characters and thus the focus of the film is not cluttered.
What a performance from Walter Huston. He is this movie.
