Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
Masterful storytelling, mind blowing design and technical aspects, and gut wrenching performances (Lily Gladstone!). The visual portrayals of the Osage community were unlike anything I’ve seen before.
Part of me felt a craving for more balance in the perspectives between Ernest and Mollie. It relies heavily on Ernest; therefore, it feels like we miss much of Mollie’s voice, and of the Osage community that surrounds her. Yet it also feels like that’s the point—to feel totally conflicted by a period that never received its due closure.
I am in awe of this movie, and I’m also horrified by it. Truly epic.
