This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This movie posed several fascinating, deep, philosophical questions about what makes someone human, what do you do with, what I'm sure, are the oncoming clones/robots, and, certainly, "What does it feel like to die?" Someone who basically died 16 times would be the perfect question for Mickey 17 to answer.
He doesn't.

Disjointed, slow, and far too little of Bill Murray makes this movie a dud. I felt bad for the lead, because he has talent, but he wasn't up to the level of everyone else around him. It's "meh."
30 minutes in, I still had no idea what the story was. The stakes. All confusing.
It's maddening to me because there are flashes of what the movie could be--especially the comefy--but it was too little.
A tight, focused, thrilling opening sequence sets the bar for Smile 2--and the rest of the movie doesn't come close to even touching that bar.
It's mostly a "it's hard being millionaire pop star" story with obvious jump scares and extra long scenes that don't move the story forward.
Yet another movie that nobody wanted and has no reason to exist.
