There is no denying that Del Toro's Pinocchio is a feast for the eyes. Every frame crackles with the beauty of a Guillermo Del Toro picture. I especially love how the humans are stylized but still human. A tricky balance, but one that is wonderfully achieved. The blue fairy is also at the best she's been in any Pinocchio film both though design and a typically strong performance by Tilda Swinton.

Disenchanted is a film that regrettably lives up to its title.
