  I will explain why this hideous film warrants one star. Periodically, a brief flash of single-frame images (blood and rats and stuff) grace the screen. If you pause on one of these frames there is a fucking shot of someone’s actual asshole in the flurry of images. I’m not making this up. This gets one star because it drove my friends and I insane because we thought we had imagined it and that it couldn’t possibly have been in this movie.…

  Saw in a very limited theater release! Dude in front of me would fall asleep and snore on occasion. 

  Giving this a numerical star rating is so difficult. It’s so frustratingly, beautifully grounded in childlike logic that works principally in the film’s overall benefit. It’s the nightmare you had when you were four years old that you can never really quite forget. Had to close my eyes more than a few times; I can’t remember the last time I had to do that watching a movie.
