This was really an awesome experience to watch on the big screen and it's ability to take control of the atmosphere and infect you with it's eerie world building was unrivalled. However it simply wasn't characterful. There is little to no success in creating any sort of emotional entanglement with the viewer, which leaves the film with no foundations to build real first-hand fear upon.

I don't think this is really a daring movie, and I don't think it genuinely studies the social and familial effects of exclusion, more like it uses this situation as an excuse to make people engage in odd behaviour on camera.
I mean, it's an interesting concept about what extreme seclusion and sheltering looks like, and it makes you think about the implications of growing up without any real identity or socialisation..
