Bound 1996
It's quite an achievement to have a really tight, compelling and tense mafia story contained within about three rooms with the most dramatic music ever that executes its conflict and resolution so satisfyingly, and strikes an incredible tonal balance with its gravity and levity. Surely, I hear you say, the only way this could be made better is if there was some lesbian sex every 20 minutes or so. Well, have I got some good news for you...

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith 2005
Every time I go to rewatch Revenge of the Sith, I'm convinced that THIS will be the time that I realise I've been crazy all along and it's not actually the best Star Wars film. And every time the opposite happens, and I fall in love more. The pace of this film is absolutely impeccable, it's an uber-cool fast-paced first hour that gets the bulk of the plot out the way to allow the ending to breathe for over half of the film's runtime. It's dark, it's rule-of-cool, it's got some fantastic performances, and it's chock-full iconic lines.
