  In no particular order:

  -Weak, uninteresting plot with god-awful dialogue to match
  -Poor casting and very average performances
  -A complete waste of Patricia Clarkson
  -Painful clichés and metaphors littered throughout
  -Inexplicably lit like a comedy for some scenes, needed to generally be more stylised. Missed the neo-noir vibe completely (if that's what they were aiming for).

  Appart for that it's fine I guess... nope, who am I kidding... I fucking hate this film.

  Pokémon Detective Pikachu 2019

  I really wanted to like this...

  A fantastic looking film; always in favour of more things being shot on film. Ryan Reynolds is a perfect fit as pikachu. Aside from these redeeming points I found the film tedious, poorly written and just disappointingly forgettable.

  Admittedly I have no childhood connection to the Pokemon universe, I'm sure nostalgia would play a part in making this film more enjoyable. Also I watched this whilst very tired and after a few drinks, my opinion may change after a second viewing. .
