For a second it was perfect. The scene where the bombs launched and the speech by Apocalypse, followed by quicksilver saving the entire school it was all perfect. Too bad the rest of it was filled with no chemistry, and poor direction.

Mufasa: The Lion King 2024
A great story and quite entertaining when it was telling the story. The songs and the cutbacks to Timba and Pumba. Really ruined all the momentum and were unnecessaryly long. But the story looked much better than the first and was more entertaining.

Léon: The Professional 1994
In art sometimes you have to separate the artist from the work but sometimes it is impossible when they intertwine like this. Luc Bessons pedophilic undertones turn a well made movie into an uncomfortable experience. Natalie Portman gives a ridiculously good performance, probably the best by a child actor I have ever seen, carrying the entire movie. Oldman and Reno give underwhelming performances, but I credit that more to the writing and not themselves. Would not recommend but tweak a few major things and it could have been great.
