Eggers’ Nosferatu lived up to the standard of cinematographic excellence we’ve come to expect. The nighttime scenes drained of all color as if to become black-and-white were brilliantly done and matched the eerie nature of the moment.
Lily Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe put in compelling shifts as Ellen and the Doctor. Dafoe laughing maniacally against the backdrop of a manor in flames (channeling his inner Green Goblin) goes down as one of my favorite scenes of the film. Ralph…
Turns out a horror movie that tells you everything that’s gonna happen before it happens - not good. I wholeheartedly believe I could write a better horror movie from my couch tomorrow.

This was a good film and an excellent directorial debut for Danny and Michael Philippou.
The film felt familiar; It was a scary film (mostly in the body horror sense) but kept me glued to the screen as the pace picked up and the hysteria set in.
It makes sense now that the film was produced in conjunction with Causeway Films and Samantha Jennings (who you’ll know as producers of the 2014 film The Babadook). That familiarity I’m feeling is…
