  i think when i was younger i would’ve envied a more spectacular portrayal of living, one so glamorous we could simply dismiss everything that came after. but the older i get the more serenity i find with coming to terms with my own mortality. it’s nice to take a piece of our lives and hold on to it forever, it’s great that some wish to challenge such a thought. it’s lovely how people recount their lives in the end, it’s precious what appears the most mundane at first glance.

  it’s quite upsetting how disappointed the whole fam is with this show (minus my dad who’s happily crunching away with his big bag of sunflower seeds).

  i’m not even going to dive into the randomly chaotic camerawork, or the fact that every single character in this show annoys me IMMENSELY, because that’s beside the point. simply:

  this is not China in the 80s-90s. 

  its new york in the 50s, hong kong in the 60s, even shanghai in the 20s. but…
