Hoop Dreams 1994
One of the best documentaries of all time. Love it because I love basketball but of course it is about so much more than basketball. Such an incredible insight into the pressure big dreams can create and how exhausting it can be. Especially in the case of these kids personal lives as well. Never knew about the deaths in their families years later. Heartbreaking that the story still continued years later.

To Live and Die in L.A. 1985
I love how gay Friedkin was. Really though this movie slaps on all accounts. Friedkin might be the best car chase director of all time. The soundtrack is banger after banger. Every shot is innovative and beautiful. And William Petersen’s jeans. My god those jeans. Also kills me how many movies I’ve seen Willem Dafoe naked in because it shows how comfortable he is showing off his huge third leg that is still yet to be seen 😔

La Haine 1995
Feels like a bullet flying around a room. La Haine might just be one of the most important films in cinema. It’s perfectly written, shot, edited, directed, performed, and it’s the most engaging movie with such a simple plot. Not only is this movie important cause of all of these things, buts it’s incredibly relevant today.

Under the Silver Lake 2018
Definitely gonna need to rewatch this as soon as possible. I know i loved it but there are still some things that i can’t wrap my head around quite yet. All I’ll say now is it is visually stunning, i was never bored, it’s super fun to watch, and Andrew Garfield is fantastic. This movie is super unique and I’ve truly never seen anything like it. More to come very soon.
