  First movie I’ve seen in theaters in years. Wasn’t really obsessed in the way I thought it would be, but maybe I saw a few hundred too many tik toks about it before actually watching it myself. I thought that the corporate overtones were a little too strong (but maybe that’s because I never had Barbies growing up) and the approach to the feminist message a bit bland. Loved the guitar on the beach scene and how every woman in the theater was laughing out loud (so many the moments of solidarity and community created irl from this movie too which was awesome)

  Truly so good. I am in awe of Janet McTeer.

  Also, the set has a very sexy collection of mid century modern esque furniture, which is fueling a resurgence in my MCM obsession. I really do love a good wood panel wall.

  I found him incredibly hard to like. He redeemed himself with the “happiness should be shared” revelation at the end, but still… the general carelessness and oftentimes self centered attitude was hard to watch. Maybe that was the point though?
