  It had been too long since I first watched this. My husband hadn’t seen it before, so it was fun to be part of that. A reliable film for its time. The intentional goofiness throughout worked well. It’s just that we all saw Kevin Costner get blasted in the abdomen by a rifle, show signs of pain a few times while holding his hand to his side, and then never again as he made his way to dry land and back out to sea.
