  imagine not only marketing your product to "bachelors, widows and misogynists" but being perfectly comfortable selling a lifelike exact replica of your own daughter to one of them. unfortunately this movie was a great time

  one of my absolute favorite B&tB adaptations. i adore this thing and have watched it many times. who needs dialogue (or changing facial expressions, even) when you have a sweet-eerie-gentle-haunting score and intelligent, sensitive body language and hand motions?

  incomplete list of things about which i have feelings:
  -slipping a card (a HEARTS card) into her bodice
  -the guitar
  -the drawing he does of her!!!
  -the sisters being genuinely kinda menacing keeping her trapped/enslaved like that when she comes back…
