  This is a wild, messy scifi movie. In a lot of ways it reminds me a lot of Star Wars: there's a space battle at the beginning, and different sorts of aliens, who visually would fit in Star Wars, a priest who holds the key. Apparently visually, it took a lot from Jodorowsky's Dune. The story is hard to take too seriously, but it's not funny either. It just feels like it could have been so much better of a movie if everything was a little more tight.

  I think this movie is supposed to be an epic film where the characters are driven by vengeance, greed, and love. But it seems more like a random series of inscrutable and mostly violent events driven by nothing at all.

  The gimmick of this movie is that the first half was in 2D, and the second half is a single 50-minute long take supposed to be in 3D (but there was no 3D at the Regent Square Theater where I watched). First half was vaguely about a man who becomes obsessed with the murder of a childhood friend, obsessed with finding the murderer, then falling in love with the murderer's ex (eventually reciprocated).
