Alien 1979
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
“Why won’t anybody listen to Sigourney Weaver??!?!” I shout at my TV probably 20 times throughout this film. Every shot of this movie is fantastic and I can see why it gets the hype it gets. The sets and practical effects are stunning. The beginning is a very slow burn (no flamethrower-pun intended) but things started moving I was absolutely glued to the screen. Other than the slow start, only one critique: I can’t tell if most of the plot is predictable because I’ve heard so much about it or if it’s just predictable. Either way, the movie works for what it is.

Man, nothing like childhood whimsy and the most creepy tunnel sequence to lodge this movie in my childhood memory banks as a certified banger. Also the Oompa Loompa roast songs are killer. RIP Gene Wilder.
