The first non-Wes movie, I have never seen a re-quel/remake/reboot hit as hard as this movie. Managing to attach itself to the previous 4, while also ignoring them led to a truly wonderful movie.
Scream 4 is meta on another level, really leaning on rewarding the audience for watching the first three, but self contained enough that the meta observations work with or without knowledge of the previous films
This one goes over the top, but manages to hold on to the tenants of the original, and the sequel. Like all screams, there is plenty of meta observations that engage the watcher.
