Too drunk and high to give this a smart review, but now I totally understand where David Lynch was coming from with the episodes in space in Twin Peaks S3.
A pro-life movie I’d be happy to show to my CCD students. I’ve been watching the 70’s horror collection on Criterion and so far what surprises me is how naturalistic they are. It feels like I’m watching a slice of life movie where people get brutally murdered at random intervals. It’s interesting as a cultural artifact as an early slasher movie but it didn’t have much tension for me.
Strong “Movie you watch in school after the teacher has given up on teaching for this year” energy from this one. I had a dumb grin on my face the whole time watching it, and spent most of it annoying my friends by telling them that “this shit slaps”, but it does.

Great cinematography and a clever premise to use fairy tales as a metaphor for Hanna’s coming of age. Hanna’s character development felt a little muted though, and the plot also didn’t have much meat on it. I would watch this on a plane or on cable on a lazy weekend afternoon.
