There’s some interesting ideas here, the cinematography and direction are good and there are some strong actors scattered across the ensemble cast.
However, the film does fall under the weight of itself and Milla Jovovich does a decent enough job playing Joan as a scared peasant girl, but doesn’t have enough gravitas to convincingly make me believe she could command an army as Joan the warrior.
