  This is not a pleasant film. I'd venture to say it's a necessary one for a New Zealander, however. It's tragedy, and pride, and making "fix me some eggs" more than a meme.

  The best way to describe this film is that a dwarf snorting cocaine is not out of place, in a film about neither.

  The remarkable thing about this film is the sheer density of jokes it puts onto the screen. Many of them are terrible, but there is alchemy in the way they are half way through the next joke before you've properly absorbed the awfulness of the last one, and they catch you with the rhythm of the humour. It feels more like standup than later parody films, and that's to be applauded.
