  I watched this for the first time. Although it is objectively bad, it is also so good. I laughed so many times, and I couldn’t stop watching through the cringe. I understand why it’s a cult classic.

  Shen is an attractive lad. The movie is good. Shoutout to Disney for breaking stereotypes and making Wendy Wu a dumb, poor Asian. That was pretty woke. Also Brenda Song fighting in the pink dress is still just as inspiring this time around.

  It lost one star because I didn’t like how we didn’t get to sit in any of the big emotional revelations. It felt like Greta got me to cry, and then didn’t let me sit in those emotions and process. I also wanted Barbie to more slowly come to her realization that the real world sucks. I get why we didn’t do that since this is a movie that needs to be somewhat enjoyable for children. And I think the Ruth plot line was unnecessary. Also. Big ken girlie. I get it, and I get him. I think many of the girlies do. Anyway. Good film.
