The two things to note for me is the character development and the dialogue. Fuck every camera direction etc. this movie is abt a nobody who tries to be a somebody, a bystander who tries to come to the forefront, a follower who finds his own path.
Yet these metaphors work well with a sane person but even better with a deranged narcoleptic person. I believe the feeling of loneliness permeated past the screen.

This movie is a movie that every man should watch. It gives a viewpoint that most men would never understand, and the director does it directly without any shenanigans. She’s direct in her storytelling and direct in her writing.

I was very engaged throughout the movie! I did come in 30 minutes late and miss a good chunk of the beginning but it still flowed very well. Denis villenueve’s vision for the Harkonnen section was very well executed and somewhat psychotic. The black and white, the pacing, and the visuals made it for some of the most suffocating and terrifying parts of the movie. Reminded me of some fascist propaganda. And what tied everything together was definitely the sound.…
