  So weird how accurately this film depicts an Asian American kid growing up in the early 00s trying to fit in so desperately. My youth was also this constant battle accepting my culture and adapting to the “norm.” It really hit home watching Chris’ rebellious phase of lashing out and making choices that temporarily relieve those struggles, but in the end he starts to embrace it all and flourish. The path is set from there.

Following
